Frequently Asked

Before you head for the snow.

Which is the best ski destination in India?+
Gulmarg is the strongest choice for a broad lift-served ski holiday and advanced mountain terrain. Auli and Solang Valley are commonly chosen for learning and recreational skiing. Manali works well as a winter base for nearby ski areas.
When is the skiing season in India?+
Most Himalayan ski travel is planned from December to March. The most reliable window varies by destination and snowfall, and lift or road operations can change with weather.
Is Gulmarg suitable for beginners?+
Yes. Beginner instruction can be arranged on gentler lower slopes, while higher mountain and off-piste terrain should only be used at an appropriate ability level and with suitable local guidance.
What is the difference between Manali and Solang Valley for skiing?+
Manali is the main resort town and travel base. Solang Valley, about 13 km from Manali, is a separate winter-sports area where recreational skiing and other snow activities are commonly conducted when conditions allow.
Do ski packages include equipment and instructors?+
Only when the selected package says they are included. Each package should list equipment, instruction or guiding separately so the guest knows exactly what is booked.
Are Gondola or lift tickets included in every ski holiday?+
No. Lift or Gondola tickets are included only when explicitly shown in the package inclusions or booking price.
Can children join a ski holiday?+
Yes, subject to the child’s age, fitness, instructor assessment, snow conditions and the child policy of the selected package. The booking engine collects child age so the correct rate and room plan can be calculated.
Is travel insurance recommended for a ski holiday in India?+
Yes. Winter mountain travel can be affected by weather, road closures, medical events and activity risks. Choose cover appropriate for skiing and the activities in your itinerary.
